Flam is a village at the inner end of the Aulandsfjord, an arm of the Sognefjord.
Flam railway was voted as one of the most spectacular train trips in Europe, it offers an amazing journey between the high mountains and the fjord.
A little over 12 miles long, the route runs from sea level to Mydral station at an altitude of 2850 feet. The ride cuts through deep ravines, waterfalls cascading and we passed by the magnificent Kosfjossen waterfall where a dancer performs. We changed train at Myrdal and head to the famous mineral water Voss in the Raundalen valley via Gravhalsen Tunnel.
We stopped by the Tvinde Waterfall before we head back to the ship in Flam via the steepest one way road Stalheim in Norway.
